Made it Monday: Memo Board Revamp
One of my recent projects I did was revamp my memo board. I used it initially to hold Christmas cards, then to hold mail and notes. I didn’t take a before picture of it and it is not a project I had featured on my blog in the past-oops!
I had originally taken the idea from a Pottery Barn catalog. It was a goodwill frame with some jute strung across to hang Christmas cards from. I continued using it well after Christmas, but I was running out of space to hang mailings and such from. Then I saw this post over at one of my favorite blogs, Shanty 2 Chic.
I knew that I just had to add a few more jute strips to mine. I also spray painted it and updated the rosettes. Here is the new and improved version:
It is much easier to hang things from this one!
On a side note, I finally finished decorating my framed peg board!! It only took me, well, a really long time!
I wanted to have easy access to all my ribbon. My ribbon drawer was getting cramped and it was getting hard to find the ribbon I wanted. This is a great solution. I think I use my ribbon more now that I can see it!
I also love the easy access to my cutting utensils. I am really bad about loosing scissors (currently, my sewing/fabric scissors is missing), so it helps to have a spot where there is usually always one hanging.
Since these pictures, I’ve added a clipboard that helps me keep track of any orders I have to fill and the projects I want to work on next.
Hope you had a fab weekend!

Made-it Monday
Welcome to the very first installment of Made-it Monday! I am going to try and do this or something similar to this each week (different days of the week will have different titles). Who knows, maybe I’ll even get motivated to do a couple fun installments each week! This week, I am starting off really simple. I took down my Christmas decorations this weekend (sad!) and put up the Valentine’s decorations. I had to change up the picture above my seasonal table to match the Valentine décor. So, my feature for Made-it Monday is the cute little banner on the top of the picture.
The banner adds such a fun touch. I used my cricut to cut out the letters in all sorts of pink scrap papers and to cut hearts out of scrap paper that matches the frame on the table. After attaching the letters and hearts with hot glue to Jute twine (one of my favorite things ever!), I taped it to the back of the frame to hold it in place. If you don’t have a cricut or die cutting machine, most craft stores sell pre-cut letters that would work as well.
Here is a shot of the Valentine’s Day table:
I am loving the blue with the reds and pinks. My favorite thing on the table is the fab blue bowl I got at an antique store that is housing some red Christmas beads.

Bloom!
I am having so much fun with all the cupboard doors and drawer faces my dad gave me! Over Easter weekend, my dad helped me make these shelves:http://www.beneathmyheart.net/2009/08/cafe-shelf-tutorial-and-giveaway/. I knew I could use one of the drawers to make a cute little sign for one of my shelves. This is what I started with:
I used my cricut to cut out the word “bloom” on brown vinyl.
Using transfer tape I applied it to the drawer.
I added some blue, pearly beads I got on clearance at Michaels to the “b”
Then I made some flowers out of jute and felt for the corner. I made some leaves out of some scrap fabric and added a pearl to the center of the flowers.
Here is the finished product:
Here it is in its new home:
I am really loving the new shelves in my spare bedroom!
