Flowered Tank Top

A few weeks ago I saw these really cute tank tops in Old Navy. I didn’t really need any more tank tops and didn’t really want to buy any since it is still freezing here. So, instead, I snapped a quick picture of it with my phone and went home with an idea. I grabbed a tank top I already had, along with some matching satin that I had on hand:

I found something circular to trace on the satin and cut out 8 circles about 2” in diameter. I applied fray check to the edges of the circles (hopefully they will hold up in the wash) and let them dry. This did change the color a bit on the edges of the satin, but it isn’t too noticeable.

After letting them dry, I folded the circles into quarters and hand stitched a little at the bottom so they would stay together:

The final step was sewing them onto the tank. I hand sewed them onto the tank as well, and am really happy with how it turned out:
